About Amica

Amica has been teaching in Toronto, Canada since 2010, and can be found at some of the city’s top studios including, Pure Yoga Toronto, Yoga Space, and Downward Dog Yoga Centre. She teaches Ashtanga method classes, as well as her own unique style of careful sequenced advanced level Vinyasa classes. Amica’s goal is to ignite a spirit and passion for practice in her students, to give them an experience, through which they can connect to a deeper part of themselves. She challenges her students to be dedicated, hard working and playful in their approach. Amica holds a Level II Authorized in the Ashtanga lineage, and receive the blessing to teach from her teacher R. Sharath Jois. She has made 5 trips to Mysore india to learn and study this style. She also has earned more then 300 hours of teacher training hours in Vinyasa Yoga through Downward Dog Yoga Centre.

Why Join

The retreat is for students with yoga experience and not recommended for beginners. It’s for those looking to experience a fun and challenging week of sweaty classes. In the mornings, Amica will teach class that will be grounding and strengthening, focused on routine, foundation and core poses. Morning classes will finish with a short guided meditation with Emily Sann who will join Amica on the retreat to teach the meditation portion. Afternoons will be similar to Amica’s power classes or ‘the Friday night class’ that many of her students in the city have come to love. These classes include: arm balances, inversions and a deep flows.
