About Christina

Cristina "Tina" Jo Gilbert - also known as "Sunshine" to her 82 year old Dad - grew up in Washington State. Tina's first passion was dance. She trained at Pacific Northwest Ballet and landed her first professional dance contract at Oregon Ballet Theatre at the age of 18. Her dance career took her through Europe, Asia and onto several stages throughout the United States. In 2011, Tina returned to Portland, Oregon where she found Vinyasa Yoga, a husband, and 5 children. She completed her 200hr RYT training at CorePower Yoga. Since then, Tina has expanded her teachings and practices to include Yin Yoga, the 90 minute Original Hot Yoga series, Yoga Nidra and kids yoga.

Tina is passionate about tailoring the experience to accommodate the students goals and skill levels. You'll enjoy creative sequencing and playfullness during her Vinyasa classes, whereas in her Yin classes you'll explore depth and relaxing massage. Each one of her classes will embrace you with great music, movement and motivation. She encourages growth of the physical self through her own personal experiences, humor and compassionate understanding.
